As a key gateway into Harlow Town Centre, Harlow Bus Terminus will be transformed, providing a new travel hub, with improved access to the bus network and other sustainable modes of transport

Creating a Gateway, Improving Connectivity

Through clever design and landscaping, the new travel hub will better connect with Broad Walk via Cross Street, West Walk and East Gate, as well as Terminus House and Harlow College.

As a key gateway, it will become a high-quality destination, welcoming residents, visitors as part of a regenerated town centre. It also creates opportunities for new and innovative public art in key locations.

A new waiting concourse will offer a welcoming and safe environment, with the introduction of much needed soft landscaping, improved live-travel information and opportunities for pop-up activities.

Temporary Bus Station

To facilitate construction of the new Sustainable Transport Hub and Interchange and to provide bus users with a clear and uninterrupted service, we are planning to create a temporary bus station at Post Office Road car park.

Subject to planning permission, Post Office Road will cease being a public car park and temporary structures installed to provide a temporary bus station across 8 stands, servicing all routes in and out of Harlow Town Centre.

The temporary bus station will be fully accessible, with raised platforms, shelters and lighting. We will also be providing a mini-information kiosk and toilets out of John Robson House, just opposite the temporary bus station.

It is anticipated that the temporary bus station will be operational from December 2024 and full details on services will be available soon.
